Philippe Pacalet’s Puligny-Montrachet 2017 Magnum is a finely crafted Bourgogne Chardonnay that captures the purity and precision this village is famed for. In magnum format, it promises especially graceful evolution, giving the wine extra time to open and develop its signature finesse, mineral tension, and layered complexity. Puligny-Montrachet has long been one of Burgundy’s most celebrated white-wine communes, revered for producing some of the world’s most elegant expressions of Chardonnay.

In the glass, this wine typically shows a luminous pale gold hue with a bright, refined shimmer. The nose is expected to be delicate yet complex, with notes of citrus peel, white flowers, green apple, crushed stone, and subtle hazelnut or buttery nuances as it opens. On the palate, it should feel precise and beautifully textured, balancing ripe orchard fruit with brisk mineral drive and a long, saline finish. The magnum format supports slow maturation, making this an excellent candidate for cellaring over the coming years as it gains depth, roundness, and greater aromatic complexity.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This Puligny-Montrachet is an excellent match for shellfish, lobster, seared scallops, roast chicken, creamy pasta dishes, and fine fish preparations such as turbot or sole. Serve it at around 10–12°C to preserve its freshness and aromatic detail. Decanting is generally unnecessary, though a brief splash decant may be helpful if the wine is especially restrained in its youth.
