Taylor's Vintage Port 2000 Magnum

Taylor’s Vintage Port 2000 Magnum is a standout release from one of the most respected names in Port, offering exceptional concentration, structure, and long-term cellaring potential. Produced from Taylor’s own top-class vineyard holdings in the Douro Valley, it combines power and precision in a style that has helped define Vintage Port at the highest level for centuries. Makuprofiili
In the glass, it shows a deep saturated purple-black colour, hinting at its remarkable intensity. The bouquet is imposing and layered, with graphite, blackberry liqueur, crème de cassis, dark plum, smoke, and subtle spice rising steadily from the glass. The palate is rich, dense, and beautifully structured, delivering wave after wave of black fruit wrapped around ripe tannins and vibrant acidity. Despite its power, the wine retains impressive freshness and balance, with a long, lingering finish that promises excellent development over decades. This is a Port built for the cellar and is expected to age gracefully for many years, gaining even more nuance and complexity with time.

Viininvalmistus
Taylor’s sources fruit from its historic estate vineyards in the Douro Valley, including Quinta de Vargellas, Quinta de Terra Feita, and Quinta do Junco, all classified in the top-tier Group A category. These vineyards benefit from diverse microclimates and the rugged schist-rich terroir of the Douro, which contribute to the wine’s depth, aromatic complexity, and firm structure. The grapes are traditionally harvested by hand and vinified with great care to preserve concentration and balance, resulting in a Vintage Port of exceptional longevity.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
Serve this Vintage Port slightly below room temperature, ideally around 16–18°C, and decant it before serving to separate any sediment and allow the wine to open up. It pairs beautifully with blue cheeses, dark chocolate desserts, walnuts, or simply enjoyed on its own after dinner. The magnum format is particularly well suited to extended ageing and shared celebratory moments.
