Tenuta Regaleali Cygnus 2021 is a characterful Sicilian red that brings together the island’s flagship Nero d’Avola with the refined structure of Cabernet Sauvignon. Named as a tribute to the Tasca family’s history and Richard Wagner’s time in Palermo, it combines local identity with international elegance in a style that is both distinctive and quietly sophisticated.

In the glass, Cygnus typically shows a deep ruby color with a polished, inviting sheen. The bouquet leans toward ripe dark berries, black cherry, and plum, layered with hints of spice, Mediterranean herbs, and a subtle cedar note from the Cabernet Sauvignon. On the palate, the Nero d’Avola brings generous fruit, warmth, and Sicilian depth, while Cabernet Sauvignon adds backbone, fine tannins, and a more linear, elegant finish. The result is a balanced and expressive wine with good aging potential, especially for those who enjoy reds that develop more complexity over a few years in bottle.

Cygnus comes from Tenuta Regaleali in Sicily, where the high-baked hillsides and varied terroir help preserve freshness while giving the fruit plenty of ripeness and concentration. The blend of Nero d’Avola from elevated vineyards and Cabernet Sauvignon is crafted to highlight the native grape’s potential alongside the finesse of an international varietal. Harvesting is carried out with care to pick each component at optimal maturity, followed by a vinification approach designed to preserve fruit purity, structure, and balance.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This wine pairs beautifully with roasted lamb, grilled beef, rich pasta dishes, and Sicilian classics such as eggplant-based recipes or tomato-driven braises. It also works well with mature cheeses and herb-infused Mediterranean cuisine. Serve at around 16–18°C, and decanting for 30–60 minutes is recommended if you want to open up the aromas and soften the tannins.
