Weingut Prager Riesling Wachau Achleiten Smaragd 2024 is a benchmark dry Riesling from one of Wachau’s most prized single vineyards. Sourced from the steep, stone-rich terraces of Ried Achleiten, it combines precision, minerality, and impressive concentration with the kind of purity that has made Prager one of the region’s most respected names.

Makuprofiili
Pale straw in the glass, this wine shows a bright, crystalline appearance that hints at its freshness and focus. The nose opens with layered aromas of citrus, white peach, apricot, and crushed wet stone, complemented by a subtle herbal lift that adds depth and complexity. On the palate, it is concentrated yet finely etched, with vibrant acidity carrying flavours of lemon zest, stone fruit, and saline minerality through a long, elegant finish. The 2024 Achleiten Smaragd has excellent aging potential, with the structure and intensity to develop beautifully over the coming years while retaining its clarity and finesse.

Viininvalmistus
The grapes come from Ried Achleiten, a celebrated Wachau vineyard known for its steep terraces, rocky soils of schist and gneiss, and excellent sun exposure. These conditions encourage low yields and exceptional mineral expression, while careful harvesting helps preserve the grape’s natural freshness and aromatic precision. Vinification is handled with a focus on terroir transparency, allowing the site’s intensity and purity to remain at the forefront of the finished wine.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This Riesling is a natural match for shellfish, grilled or poached fish, light poultry dishes, and aromatic Asian-inspired cuisine, especially where freshness and a touch of spice are present. Serve well chilled, ideally around 8–10°C, and consider brief decanting if you want to open up its layers of aroma in its youth.
