Château Lynch-Bages 2000

Château Lynch-Bages 2000 is one of the standout wines of this celebrated Pauillac estate, showing the depth, power, and refinement that have made the château a benchmark in Bordeaux. From a highly acclaimed vintage, it combines classic Cabernet Sauvignon structure with the roundness of Merlot, offering both immediate appeal and remarkable longevity.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, the wine still shows a deep, dense purple core, reflecting its concentration and youthful energy despite its age. The nose opens beautifully with layered aromas of blackberries, cassis, graphite, and a touch of pen ink, all underscored by the classic Pauillac signature of freshness and noble power. On the palate, it is full-bodied and impressive, with velvety tannins that have softened beautifully over time while still providing structure. There is excellent purity of fruit, a polished texture, and a sense of elegance beneath the wine’s muscular frame. This is a wine with serious aging potential, and even now it remains poised to develop further complexity over the coming decades.

Viininvalmistus
Lynch-Bages comes from the Bages plateau just southwest of Pauillac, where gravelly Bordeaux terroir provides ideal conditions for Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The estate works with hand harvesting, followed by careful sorting and fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. The wine is then matured for 15 to 18 months in oak barrels, with up to 75% new oak depending on the vintage, giving added depth and complexity.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This is a wine that pairs beautifully with premium dishes such as roast lamb, beef tenderloin, entrecôte, venison, or rich mushroom-based preparations. It is best served at around 16–18°C, and decanting is highly recommended, especially if opened young or if sediment has formed with age.

Château Lynch-Bages has been owned by the Cazes family since 1939 and has become one of the most respected estates in Pauillac. Jean-Charles Cazes took on the challenge of restoring the property to the level promised by its 1855 classification, transforming it from a neglected estate into one of Bordeaux’s most consistent and admired names. Today, the château is known for both quality and stability, producing wines that are among the most recognizable in the appellation.
