Jacquesson’s Lieux-Dits 2008 magnum set is a rare and highly compelling expression of Champagne terroir, bringing together two magnums of Avize Champ Cain and one magnum of Dizy Corne Bautray from a vintage now widely regarded as exceptional. Makuprofiili
Avize Champ Cain 2008 shows a bright, almost luminous appearance in the glass, with aromas of citrus peel, green apple, walnuts, marzipan, and a delicate touch of butter and honey. On the palate it is rich yet finely etched, with impressive concentration in the mid-palate, layered texture, and a long, chalky finish that keeps unfolding with air. Dizy Corne Bautray 2008 is similarly vibrant, opening with notes of citrus oil, clear honey, preserved rhubarb, and hints of fresh pastry. The palate is full-bodied and deeply structured, driven by a firm backbone of acidity and a long, mineral finish. Both wines have excellent aging potential and should continue to develop complexity over many years, especially in magnum format.

Viininvalmistus
The Avize parcel, Champ Cain, lies at the base of a south-facing slope on a terroir of clay, sand, and silt over chalk, planted with Chardonnay vines dating back to 1962. The vines are farmed using organic methods, reflecting Jacquesson’s careful approach to the vineyard. Both wines were disgorged in April 2018, with very low dosage for the Avize bottling and no dosage for the Dizy Corne Bautray, highlighting the purity of the fruit and the character of each site.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
These Champagnes are ideal with refined dishes such as poached lobster, oysters, caviar, sashimi, roast chicken with morels, or aged Comté and other firm alpine cheeses. Serve chilled at around 8–10°C to preserve their precision and complexity. Decanting is not usually necessary, but a brief opening in the glass can help the wines reveal their full aromatic range.
