Venica Collio Pinot Grigio Jesera 2025 is a beautifully expressive white wine from Friuli-Venezia Giulia, crafted entirely from Pinot Grigio with the hallmark precision of the Venica family. Its gentle skin contact and careful ageing bring a distinctive copper hue, layered aromatics, and a far more textured style than a typical Pinot Grigio. Rooted in a long family tradition, Jesera reflects both the elegance of Collio and the region’s reputation for refined, terroir-driven whites.
Makuprofiili
In the glass, Jesera shows a clear copper color, the natural result of a short maceration on the skins. The nose is captivating and lifted, moving from mimosa and jasmine to acacia, ginger, pink pepper, pear, and crisp apple, all wrapped in a subtle citrus frame and a mineral undertone.
On the palate, it is lively, juicy, and deeply flavorful, with recurring aromatic notes that echo long after the first sip. The texture is creamy yet perfectly balanced by bright acidity, giving the wine freshness, intensity, and impressive length. While already highly enjoyable now, its structure and complexity suggest it can hold well over time, gaining further nuance with short-term bottle aging.
Viininvalmistus
Jesera is made from 100% Pinot Grigio sourced in Collio, one of Friuli-Venezia Giulia’s most celebrated white-wine areas, where cool influences and mineral-rich soils help preserve aromatic purity and freshness. The grapes undergo 4–8 hours of maceration at 14°C directly in the press, protected from oxygen to safeguard delicacy and precision. After pressing, the must ferments and ages on the lees for six months, with 90% in stainless steel and 10% in large 20–27 HL wooden casks, adding texture without overshadowing the variety’s natural character.
Ruoka & tarjoilu
This is an excellent match for seafood, shellfish, grilled prawns, risotto with herbs or vegetables, light pasta dishes, sushi, and refined poultry preparations. It also pairs well with soft cheeses and Mediterranean cuisine. Serve chilled at around 10–12°C; decanting is not necessary.
