Weingut Prager’s Riesling Ried Steinriegl Federspiel 2024 is a pure expression of one of Wachau’s most admired vineyard sites. Grown on steep, calcareous slopes with old vines and shaped by the region’s cool climate, it combines precision, minerality, and remarkable depth in the elegant Federspiel style.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, this Riesling shows a pale, bright straw color with a vivid, crystalline sheen. The nose is finely etched and expressive, offering aromas of peach, apple, citrus peel, and white pepper, all lifted by a distinct stony minerality. On the palate, it is dry, focused, and concentrated, with racy acidity that gives the wine real tension and freshness. The fruit is clean and precise rather than overtly ripe, and the mineral finish is mouthwatering and persistent. While approachable young for its energy and clarity, it has the structure to develop beautifully over the next several years.

Viininvalmistus
Ried Steinriegl is a steep, limestone-rich vineyard in the Wachau, where the cool mesoclimate helps preserve the lively acidity and aromatic finesse that Riesling needs. Prager works with old vines, some between 30 and 70 years of age, contributing concentration, complexity, and depth to the final wine. The grapes are harvested entirely by hand and vinified gently in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, followed by seven months of aging in steel and a further two months in bottle before release.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This wine is an excellent match for seafood, grilled white fish, sushi, freshwater fish, asparagus, and lightly spiced Asian dishes. It also pairs beautifully with goat cheese and vegetable-based dishes where freshness and minerality matter. Serve chilled, ideally around 8–10°C, and decanting is not necessary.
