Zenato Amarone della Valpolicella Classico 2020 is a deeply expressive red wine from one of Veneto’s most celebrated traditional areas. Made from carefully selected grapes from Zenato’s own vineyard in the Classico zone, it reflects the richness, structure, and heritage that have made Amarone one of Italy’s most iconic wines.

In the glass, this Amarone typically shows a dense ruby to garnet hue, hinting at its concentration and depth. The nose is layered and inviting, with ripe dark cherry, dried plum, and blackberry notes complemented by hints of spice, cocoa, tobacco, and warm balsamic tones. On the palate, it is full-bodied and velvety, with powerful yet polished tannins and a long, persistent finish. The traditional appassimento method gives the wine extra intensity and complexity, while the 2020 vintage should offer both immediate appeal and the potential to evolve gracefully over the coming years.

Viininvalmistus
The grapes for this wine come from Zenato’s vineyard in the classic Valpolicella area, a region shaped by a long winemaking tradition, a strong food culture, and ideal conditions for characterful red wines. The fruit is carefully hand-selected at harvest, then placed in small boxes in the drying loft to undergo appassimento before being gently pressed, concentrating flavor and structure prior to vinification.

This Amarone pairs beautifully with rich dishes such as braised beef, game, roasted meats, aged cheeses, and mushroom-based pasta or risotto. Serve it at around 16–18°C, and consider decanting for at least an hour before drinking to allow its aromas and texture to open fully.
