Château Lynch-Bages 2009 is a powerful and polished Pauillac that showcases why this Fifth Growth is so highly regarded. With its classic Cabernet Sauvignon backbone, plush Merlot influence, and exceptional depth, it combines concentration, finesse, and remarkable aging potential in a truly memorable Bordeaux.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, it shows a deep, almost opaque ruby color, hinting at the wine’s intensity and structure. The nose is expressive and generous, with layers of blackberry, blackcurrant, ripe plum, and dark spice, followed by subtle notes of cedar, tobacco, graphite, and well-integrated oak. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and voluptuous, with a layered mouthfeel and rich, succulent dark fruit wrapped around firm Pauillac tannins. Despite its power and high concentration, it remains balanced and lively, with impressive length and freshness. This is a wine built for the long haul and should continue to evolve beautifully for 30 years or more.

Viininvalmistus
The vineyards of Château Lynch-Bages are located on the Bages plateau just southwest of Pauillac, where the gravelly terroir is particularly well suited to Cabernet Sauvignon. The estate spans around 100 hectares divided into numerous parcels, allowing for careful vineyard management and parcel-by-parcel selection. Harvesting is done by hand, and after destemming, the grapes are sorted before fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. The wine is then aged for 15 to 18 months in up to 75% new French oak barrels, depending on the vintage.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This is an excellent match for rich dishes such as beef fillet, roast lamb, duck breast, game, or slow-braised short ribs. It also pairs beautifully with truffle-based dishes and hard, aged cheeses. Serve at around 16–18°C, and decanting for 1–2 hours is recommended, especially if opening it young, to allow the wine to fully раскрыte its aromas and structure.

Château Lynch-Bages is one of the most respected estates in Pauillac and has been run by the Cazes family since 1939, when Jean-Charles Cazes transformed the property after acquiring it from a severely neglected state. Over the decades, the château has become a benchmark for consistency and quality in Bordeaux, maintaining a strong reputation for producing wines of depth, character, and ageworthiness. It remains one of the notable names in the 1855 classification and a reference point for classic Pauillac.
