Abbazia di Novacella Gewürztraminer 2025 is a beautifully aromatic white wine from Alto Adige, crafted by the historic Augustinian monks of Abbazia di Novacella. Made from 100% Traminer Aromatico, it stands out for its expressive character, elegant structure, and the distinctive mountain freshness that has made this DOC one of Italy’s most admired styles.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, this Gewürztraminer typically shows a bright, luminous straw-yellow hue. The nose is intensely aromatic and inviting, with notes that can evoke lychee, rose petals, exotic spices, ripe stone fruit, and citrus zest, all lifted by a clean alpine freshness. On the palate, it is structured yet graceful, with a generous aromatic profile balanced by freshness and precision. The wine is elegant and engaging, with a persistent finish and enough depth to develop further complexity over the next few years if properly stored.

Viininvalmistus
The vines are grown between Bressanone, Varna, and Naz Sciaves at 600 to 700 meters above sea level, on gravelly, clay-rich, and sandy soils. South and southwest-facing rows benefit from warm daytime temperatures and cool nights, while the unique microclimate and terroir help intensify the grape’s natural aroma. Harvested carefully by hand in October, the grapes are gently pressed and fermented with indigenous yeasts in stainless steel at a controlled 20°C, then aged in stainless steel for at least six months before bottling.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This aromatic white pairs well with spicy Asian dishes, shellfish, cured fish, rich poultry, soft cheeses, and lightly fragrant cuisine that complements its expressive profile. Serve chilled, ideally at 8-10°C, and decanting is not necessary.
