In the glass, this wine shows a deep blue-toned, nearly inky colour that signals both concentration and depth. The nose is finely tuned and layered, with aromas of mint and lavender weaving through ripe dark fruit. On the palate, it offers plush, soft tannins and a beautifully balanced structure, with the fruit profile leaning toward dark berries and a subtle graphite-like edge. Despite its richness, the wine remains composed and precise, with enough extract and structure to carry it confidently over time. Cappella is a small 2.5-hectare vineyard in St. Helena, one of the oldest sites in the area, originally planted in 1869. After being cleared in 1980 and left fallow for years, the vineyard was carefully replanted under David Abreu’s direction, with a full replanting of the site to ensure uniform vine age and ripening.
