In the glass, the wine shows a deep, dark color that hints at its concentration and richness. The nose opens with graphite, charcoal, and layers of deep blue fruit, creating an aromatic profile that is both refined and inviting. On the palate, it is full-bodied and beautifully balanced, with ripe fruit, silky tannins, and the kind of finesse and composure that define Abreu’s best wines. The finish is long and expressive, with enough structure to support further cellaring while remaining accessible earlier than the producer’s single-vineyard bottlings. While it has the depth to develop additional complexity over time, it is already showing the kind of harmony that makes it highly enjoyable now.

Viininvalmistus
Rothwell Hyde is assembled from a selection of fruit sourced across some of Abreu Vineyards’ renowned Napa Valley sites, including vineyards such as Thorevilos and Cappella. The blend is based primarily on Cabernet Sauvignon and complemented by Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Petit Verdot, reflecting the classic Bordeaux model. Only the best fruit is chosen after rigorous selection, with the wine made to express the elegance, intensity, and balance that have become hallmarks of the estate.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This wine is an excellent match for grilled ribeye, roast lamb, braised short ribs, or duck with a rich red wine reduction. It also pairs well with aged hard cheeses and dishes featuring mushrooms or truffle. Serve at around 16–18°C, and consider decanting for 1–2 hours to allow the aromatics to fully open and the structure to soften.
