Anakota Cabernet Sauvignon Helena Dakota Vineyard 2018 is a striking Sonoma County Cabernet from the talented hands of vigneron Pierre Saillans. Built on pure Cabernet Sauvignon and matured with a high proportion of new French oak, it delivers the kind of depth, finesse, and polish that regularly place Anakota among highly rated California wines. Saillans has a reputation for crafting wines with a distinctly classic edge, and this bottling is said to evoke the elegance and structure of top-tier Pauillac.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, this is a deep, concentrated red with the kind of intensity you’d expect from a serious Cabernet Sauvignon. The bouquet is expressive and layered, opening with blackberry liqueur, dried blackcurrants, violets, Ceylon tea, red roses, tobacco leaf, and a hint of menthol. On the palate, it is silky and powerful at once, showing dark fruit, black truffle, anise, cigar box, and clove, all carried by excellent balance and a long, memorable finish. Despite its immediate appeal, this wine has the structure and concentration to age beautifully over the next 10 to 20 years, gaining further complexity and softness with time.

Viininvalmistus
Sourced from Dakota Vineyard in Sonoma County, this Cabernet Sauvignon reflects the depth and precision of one of California’s most respected wine regions. After pressing and fermentation, the wine matured for 13 months in French oak barrels, of which 70% were new, adding structure, spice, and refined texture while preserving the vineyard’s fruit character.

Best enjoyed with richly flavored dishes such as grilled ribeye, roast lamb, braised short ribs, or mushroom-based dishes with truffle notes. Serve at 16–18°C, and consider decanting for 1–2 hours if opened young to allow the aromatics and tannins to fully unfold.
