Anakota Cabernet Sauvignon Helena Dakota Vineyard 2019 is a beautifully composed Sonoma County Cabernet that shows just how far precision winemaking can elevate a single-vineyard wine. Crafted by Pierre Saillans, it combines power, finesse, and remarkable depth, with a style that draws comparisons to top-tier Pauillac while remaining unmistakably Californian.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, this is a deep, dark Cabernet Sauvignon with an imposing yet polished presence. The nose opens with blackberry liqueur, dried blackcurrants, violets, Ceylon tea, red roses, tobacco leaf, and subtle hints of menthol. On the palate, it is silky and layered, delivering dark fruit, black truffle, anise, cigar box, and clove, all carried by outstanding balance and a long, memorable finish. Despite its generous structure, the wine is remarkably elegant, with fine tannins and a sense of control that keeps the intensity in check. It is already highly enjoyable, but it also has the depth and architecture to age gracefully for at least another 20 years.

Viininvalmistus
This wine comes from Dakota Vineyard in Sonoma County, where the Cabernet Sauvignon benefits from a site capable of producing concentrated fruit with great definition and freshness. After pressing and fermentation, the wine matured for 13 months in French oak barrels, 70% of which were new, giving the wine added complexity, structure, and spice without overwhelming the fruit.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
Best enjoyed with richly flavored dishes such as grilled ribeye, lamb chops, braised short ribs, venison, or truffle-infused mushroom dishes. Serve at around 16-18°C, and consider decanting for 1-2 hours if opening young to allow the wine’s aromatics and texture to fully unfold.
