Made from 100% Pinot Noir, it combines the grandeur of Chambertin with the finesse and precision for which Rousseau is renowned, offering a wine of depth, mineral drive, and exceptional aging potential. The 2011 vintage brings a more elegant, lifted expression of this legendary site, with freshness and balance at its core.

In the glass, this wine shows a brilliant ruby-red hue that hints at its purity and refinement. The nose is layered and seductive, with ripe cherry and raspberry, joined by notes of spice, forest floor, floral accents, and a subtle smoky nuance. On the palate, it is medium- to full-bodied, with silky tannins and a fresh line of acidity that frames the fruit beautifully. The finish is long and persistent, carrying red berry, spice, and a delicate mineral note. While already impressively expressive, this Chambertin Grand Cru has the structure and complexity to evolve gracefully for many years, developing tertiary aromas of leather, tobacco, and truffle with age.

This wine comes from the prestigious Chambertin Grand Cru vineyard in Gevrey-Chambertin, where limestone and clay soils lend the wine its distinctive depth, structure, and mineral character. The vines are planted in one of Burgundy’s most revered terroirs, where careful vineyard work and low yields help preserve concentration and purity of fruit. Vinification follows a traditional approach focused on expressing the character of the vineyard and the finesse of Pinot Noir.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
Best enjoyed with refined dishes such as roast pigeon, duck breast, beef tenderloin, game birds, or mushroom-based cuisine, where its elegance and complexity can shine. Serve at around 16–18°C, and consider decanting for 1–2 hours if the wine is being opened relatively young, to allow its aromatic layers to unfold more fully.
