Domaine Armand Rousseau’s Chambertin Grand Cru 2019 is a superb expression of one of Burgundy’s most legendary vineyard sites, crafted by a domaine widely regarded as one of the region’s finest. Often called the “king” of Gevrey-Chambertin, Chambertin has long been associated with power, depth, and prestige, and in Rousseau’s hands it gains an extra layer of poise and refinement.

In the glass, this 2019 Chambertin shows the kind of deep, polished colour you would expect from a Grand Cru of this stature. The nose opens with dark cherry, blackberry, violet, forest floor, and subtle spice, gradually revealing more nuanced earthy and mineral tones with air. On the palate, it is rich and full-bodied yet beautifully composed, balancing concentrated fruit with striking finesse. The tannins are silky but firm enough to provide structure, while the lively acidity keeps the wine fresh and precise. Although already impressive, this is a wine with exceptional aging potential and will continue to gain complexity, texture, and aromatic depth over many years.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
Best enjoyed with refined dishes such as roasted duck, game birds, beef fillet, lamb, or mushroom-based preparations, as well as truffle-accented cuisine and aged cheeses. Serve at around 16–18°C. Decanting is recommended if opening young, ideally 1–2 hours before serving, to help the wine раскрыть its aromatic complexity and soften its youthful structure.
