In the glass, the wine shows a deep ruby-red colour that hints at its concentration and maturity. The bouquet is layered and expressive, with aromas of ripe blackcurrant, cherry and blackberry joined by notes of spice, forest floor, liquorice and a subtle touch of truffle. On the palate, it is full-bodied and richly textured, with a round, generous mouthfeel. The tannins are silky and refined, while the acidity is well integrated, giving the wine excellent balance and length. The finish is long and persistent, echoing dark fruit, spice and a fine mineral thread. While already enjoyable now, it has the structure and depth to evolve beautifully with further cellaring, developing more tertiary notes of leather, tobacco and earthy complexity.

This Grand Cru pairs beautifully with refined dishes such as roasted duck, braised beef, game birds, lamb and mushroom-based cuisine, as well as aged cheeses. Serve it at around 16-18°C, and consider decanting for at least 1-2 hours if opening now, especially to allow the aromas to fully unfold and the texture to soften.
