Domaine Armand Rousseau Clos de la Roche Grand Cru 2009 is a striking example of what one of Burgundy’s greatest Grand Cru sites can deliver. From one of the most revered names in the region, this wine combines depth, precision, and the natural grandeur of Clos de la Roche, with the warm 2009 vintage bringing generous fruit and impressive concentration.

In the glass, the wine shows a deep ruby garnet hue, hinting at its concentration and maturity. The nose opens with ripe cherries, dark blackberries, and layered earthy notes of forest floor and truffle, all lifted by a distinct mineral edge that speaks to the terroir. On the palate, it is powerful yet refined, with supple but structured tannins, balanced acidity, and a long, elegant finish. The fruit is rich and expressive, but the wine retains freshness and definition, suggesting excellent ageing potential. While it is already highly impressive, it will continue to evolve beautifully over many years, gaining even more nuance and complexity.

Viininvalmistus
Clos de la Roche is one of Morey-Saint-Denis’ most celebrated Grand Cru vineyards, known for its stony soils and ability to produce Pinot Noir of intensity, structure, and mineral depth. The warm conditions of 2009 contributed to full ripeness and concentration, while careful harvesting and traditional Burgundian vinification are reflected in the wine’s purity and balance.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
Best enjoyed with refined, flavourful dishes such as roasted duck, beef tenderloin, game birds, or truffle-infused dishes. Serve at around 16–18°C, and decanting for 1–2 hours is recommended if opened young, to allow the wine to раскры all of its aromatic complexity and layered texture.
