In the glass, it shows a beautiful, mature ruby colour with the kind of subtle garnet tones that hint at its evolution. The bouquet is expressive and layered, opening with ripe cherry, raspberry, and blackberry, then moving into violet, forest floor, tobacco, and a delicate hint of truffle and spice. The palate is generous yet finely balanced, with concentrated red and dark fruit framed by polished, precise tannins and a vibrant sense of structure. There is admirable depth without heaviness, and the finish is long, savoury, and quietly powerful. Now approaching a lovely drinking window, it can be enjoyed today, though it still has the poise and backbone to develop further with additional cellaring.

This wine is an excellent match for dishes that echo its depth and refinement, such as roast duck, pigeon, game birds, beef fillet, mushroom risotto, or truffled poultry dishes. Serve at around 16-18°C, and if possible, decant gently for 30-60 minutes to let the aromas unfold while preserving its elegance.
