In the glass, this wine shows a deep ruby-red hue, hinting at its concentration and depth. The nose opens with ripe red berries such as cherry and raspberry, followed by floral tones, subtle spice, and a delicate touch of smoke. On the palate, it is structured yet graceful, with silky tannins, fresh acidity, and a refined mineral edge that reflects the character of Lavaux St. Jacques. The finish is long and persistent, carrying fruit, spice, and a savoury nuance. This is a wine with excellent ageing potential, and with time it is expected to develop more tertiary notes of forest floor, truffle, and leather.

This wine pairs beautifully with refined dishes such as roasted duck, game birds, beef fillet, mushroom-based cuisine, and braised lamb. Decanting is recommended, especially if enjoyed young, to help the wine open up and reveal its full complexity.
