Domaine Armand Rousseau’s Ruchottes-Chambertin Grand Cru Clos des Ruchottes 2005 is a beautifully composed expression of one of Burgundy’s most distinguished vineyards. In the glass, this wine shows the depth and concentration expected of a mature Grand Cru Burgundy, with a polished, elegant ruby core that has likely evolved toward garnet with age. Ruchottes-Chambertin is one of the smallest and most acclaimed grand cru sites in Gevrey-Chambertin, where thin soils and limestone-rich terroir contribute to wines of finesse, tension, and aromatic complexity. Vinification is traditionally Burgundian, with gentle extraction and élevage in oak barrels to enhance texture and complexity without overwhelming the vineyard character.
Ruoka & tarjoilu
This Grand Cru pairs wonderfully with refined dishes such as roast duck, squab, game birds, seared beef, or mushroom-based preparations. It also works beautifully with truffle dishes and aged cheeses. Serve at 16-18°C, and decanting for 30-60 minutes is recommended if opening now, especially to allow the wine to fully express its layered aromatics.
