Arnot-Roberts Clajeux Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2019 is a striking, mineral-driven expression of Cabernet from one of Sonoma County’s most distinctive hillside sites. Sourced from organically farmed vines on the steep slopes of Chalk Hill, this is a wine that combines power with precision, offering both depth and elegance in a style that reflects the cooler, more restrained side of California Cabernet.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, it shows a deep, dark ruby color that hints at its concentration. The nose opens with layers of black fruit, cranberry, cedar, gingerbread, dried spices, and a signature pencil-like mineral note that gives the wine extra detail and lift. On the palate, the dark fruit character carries through, joined by savory notes of game meat, smoke, and grilled spices. It is structured yet finely drawn, with a long, straight finish that speaks to both freshness and tension. This is a Cabernet with excellent aging potential, likely to gain even more complexity over the next decade or more.

Viininvalmistus
Clajeux Vineyard sits on a steep mountainside in Sonoma County’s Chalk Hill area, where the rocky, mineral-rich soils and elevated exposure contribute to the wine’s intensity and distinct sense of place. The vineyard was planted around 20 years ago and is farmed organically with careful attention to sustainable practices. In 2019, Arnot-Roberts used 30% whole clusters and matured the wine in 30% new oak, a thoughtful approach that adds structure and nuance without overwhelming the fruit.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This Cabernet pairs beautifully with roasted lamb, grilled ribeye, venison, braised short ribs, or dishes with smoky, herb-forward seasoning. It also works well with hard aged cheeses. Serve at 16-18°C, and consider decanting for 1-2 hours if opening young, or simply to let the wine fully раскрыt its aromatic complexity and fine tannins.
