Arnot-Roberts Syrah 2022

Arnot-Roberts Syrah 2022 is a striking expression of cool-climate California Syrah, blending fruit from Clary Ranch, Que Syrah, Baker Lane, and Solas Vineyards along the Sonoma Coast. With its low 12% alcohol, precise balance, and transparent, terroir-driven style, it offers a rare, fresh-faced take on Syrah that feels both elegant and deeply authentic.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, it shows a dark, inky color that hints at its intensity without feeling heavy. The nose is lifted and expressive, with aromas of dark cherry, blackberry, lavender, nutmeg, and subtle mint. The palate is vibrant and inviting, echoing the dark cherry and blackberry notes from the bouquet while adding freshly cracked black pepper and a refined touch of southern French spice. It finishes with energy and clarity, making it a Syrah best enjoyed relatively young, when its fruit and perfume are at their most immediate and charming.

Viininvalmistus
This Syrah draws from four cool coastal vineyards on the Sonoma Coast, where the long, slow growing season allows the fruit to ripen gradually and be harvested only in November. The cool climate naturally keeps alcohol levels low for the style, preserving freshness and lift. Maturation in neutral oak barrels keeps the focus firmly on fruit, site expression, and texture rather than overt oak influence.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This wine pairs beautifully with roast lamb, grilled duck, pepper-crusted steak, mushroom dishes, or richly seasoned Mediterranean fare. Serve it slightly cool, around 15–17°C, to highlight its freshness and aromatic detail. Decanting is optional, but a short decant can help the wine open up if served in its youth.
