Arnot-Roberts Syrah, Clary Ranch 2022 is a strikingly elegant take on California Syrah, showing how this bold grape can be shaped into something fresher, cooler, and more refined. Sourced from the cool edge of Clary Ranch, it delivers concentrated flavor with a notably moderate alcohol level, making it a distinctly modern expression of Syrah from California.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, it shows a deep purple hue that hints at its dark-fruited intensity. The nose is layered with dark cherry, blackberry, boysenberry, violet, pepper, cocoa, and dried spices, giving it both lift and depth. On the palate, the wine is concentrated yet impeccably balanced, with flavors of black cherry, plum, black pepper, and a subtle touch of vanilla from the oak. The structure feels polished and vibrant, with enough freshness to make it enjoyable young, though it should also hold nicely for short to medium-term cellaring.

Viininvalmistus
Clary Ranch sits in a marginally cool site, where Syrah ripens slowly and naturally retains lower sugar levels, helping keep alcohol in check. The grapes are harvested very late, as late as mid-November, and the clusters are pressed whole before the wine matures for 10 months in neutral French oak barrels, allowing the fruit and site character to remain at the forefront.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This Syrah works beautifully with grilled lamb, roast duck, pepper-crusted steak, mushroom dishes, or richly seasoned vegetables. Serve it slightly cool, around 16–18°C, and consider a short decant if opening young to let the aromatics fully unfold.
