Arterberry Maresh Old Vines Pinot Noir 2021

Arterberry Maresh Old Vines Pinot Noir 2021 is a standout expression of Oregon Pinot Noir, drawn from some of the region’s oldest vines and crafted with a notably gentle touch in the cellar. Sourced from 42-year-old blocks at Maresh and Weber Vineyard, this is a wine that balances intensity with precision, offering a deeply authentic sense of place. As only the third vintage of this cuvée, it already shows why these old vines are so highly regarded.

Makuprofiili
The wine shows a ruby-red colour in the glass, hinting at its bright, refined profile. The nose opens with red cherries, dried cranberries, black tea, pink peppercorn, violets and a touch of liquorice, giving it both purity and complexity. On the palate, it delivers plenty of red fruit wrapped in layers of cinnamon, spice, autumn leaves and forest floor, with a subtle smoky note carrying through the long finish. It is delicious now, with enough structure and depth to reward a few years in bottle as well.

Viininvalmistus
The grapes come from Maresh and Weber Vineyard in Oregon, where the 42-year-old vines reflect some of the oldest plantings in the region. Harvesting is done by hand, preserving fruit quality and selection in the vineyard. Vinification is kept deliberately restrained, with only 5-10% new oak used to let the character of the old vines and the sites speak clearly in the finished wine.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This Pinot Noir is a natural partner for roast duck, grilled salmon, mushroom risotto, venison, or earthy vegetable dishes such as beetroot and wild mushroom tart. Serve it slightly below room temperature, around 14-16°C, and consider a short decant if opening young to allow the aromatics to fully unfold.
