Arterberry Maresh Pinot Noir Maresh Vineyard 2021 is a beautifully pure expression of Oregon Pinot Noir, crafted by winemaker Jim Maresh with a clear focus on elegance and finesse rather than power. Sourced from old vines planted in the early 1970s at Maresh Vineyard, it captures the cooler, more graceful side of the region and reflects the long-standing history of one of Oregon’s most respected vineyard sites.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, this Pinot Noir shows a vivid, translucent ruby hue typical of finely made Oregon Pinot. The nose is expressive and layered, with strawberry jam, rhubarb, cranberry sauce, warm earth, black licorice, and a subtle thread of exotic spice. On the palate, sun-ripened red cherries, strawberries, and rhubarb jam are joined by dried violets, licorice, and spice, giving the wine both brightness and depth. The finish is long and worth lingering over, with a refined, savory edge that speaks to the wine’s pedigree and balance. While already highly appealing in youth, it should also reward a few years of cellaring, gaining further complexity and silkiness over time.

Viininvalmistus
The grapes come from old-vine plantings at Maresh Vineyard, established in the early 1970s in Oregon’s Dundee Hills, where volcanic soils and a cool climate help preserve freshness, aromatic lift, and natural acidity. The 2021 growing season delivered a limited yield, but the fruit quality was excellent, concentrating flavor while maintaining the vineyard’s trademark elegance. The wine is made in a style that emphasizes purity, transparency, and site expression, with careful vinification aimed at preserving the finesse of the fruit and the character of the vineyard.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This Pinot Noir is a natural match for roast duck, grilled salmon, mushroom risotto, game birds, and dishes with earthy or gently spiced elements. It also pairs wonderfully with herb-roasted chicken, pork tenderloin, or truffle-based dishes. Serve it slightly cool, ideally around 14–16°C, and consider a brief decant if drinking young to allow the aromatics to open fully.
