Aston Estate Pinot Noir 2018

Aston Estate Pinot Noir 2018 is a bold, deeply colored Pinot Noir from Sonoma County that shows Thomas Rivers Brown at a more powerful, structured end of the spectrum. Made exclusively with Dijon clones from a coastal Annapolis-region vineyard, it reflects both precision and intensity — a distinctive style shaped by one of California’s most respected winemakers.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, the wine shows a dark, насыщенный ruby tone that hints at its richness. The nose is expressive and layered, with aromas of blackberry, dark cherry, red currant, blood orange, bay leaf, and star anise, giving it a fragrant mix of ripe fruit and savory spice. On the palate, it is full-bodied and generous, with plush dark fruit framed by a lively freshness that keeps the wine balanced and elegant. The Dijon clone brings added depth and concentration, while the coastal influence helps preserve lift and energy. This is a Pinot Noir with excellent immediate appeal, though it should also reward a few years of cellaring.

Aston Estate draws fruit from its own vineyard in the Annapolis area of Sonoma County, just inland from the Pacific Ocean, where cool maritime conditions help slow ripening and preserve freshness. The vineyard’s exposed coastal terroir contributes to the wine’s balance of depth and vibrancy. The grapes are sourced from Dijon clones, selected here for their more concentrated and weighty expression, and the wine is crafted with Thomas Rivers Brown’s signature attention to purity, texture, and detail.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This Pinot Noir pairs beautifully with duck breast, roast chicken, mushroom risotto, seared salmon, or pork tenderloin with herbs. Serve it slightly cool, around 15–17°C, and decant briefly if drinking young to help the aromas open up and the texture soften.

Today, Brown owns Aston Estate outright and continues to oversee its wines with the meticulous style that has made him one of California’s most celebrated winemakers.
