Bergström Hope Well Pinot Noir 2018 is a beautifully poised Oregon Pinot Noir that brings together the finesse of Bergström with fruit from the highly regarded Hope Well Vineyard in the Willamette Valley. This is the first vintage Josh Bergström has made from this site, and the result is an elegant, energetic wine with striking purity and lift. The vineyard’s biodynamic, animal-friendly farming approach and the wine’s refined, modern style give it a distinctive sense of place and character.

Makuprofiili
The wine shows a pale ruby hue in the glass, hinting at its delicate, graceful style. On the nose, it opens with bright red cherry, red currant, blood orange, wild flowers, herbs, and a subtle smoky edge that adds complexity without overpowering the fruit. The palate is lively and fruit-driven, with a fresh, energetic feel and a firm backbone of fine tannins. It has a polished, feather-light texture, yet enough structure to develop further over time. Viininvalmistus
Hope Well Vineyard is located in the Willamette Valley, one of Oregon’s most important wine regions, where the cool climate and well-suited soils create ideal conditions for Pinot Noir. The vineyard, planted in 2008, is farmed with an exceptionally natural approach, with animals such as goats, ducks, llamas, and chickens roaming freely among the vines. This low-intervention, ecologically minded farming helps preserve the vitality of the site and supports fruit of remarkable quality, which Bergström allows to express itself with minimal interference in the cellar.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This Pinot Noir pairs beautifully with roast chicken, duck, grilled salmon, mushroom dishes, and herb-roasted vegetables, as well as lighter game and charcuterie. Serve it slightly chilled, ideally around 14–16°C, to highlight its freshness and aromatic precision. Decanting is not essential, but a short aeration can be helpful if opening it young.
