Bergström Sigrid Chardonnay 2019

Bergström Sigrid Chardonnay 2019 is one of Oregon’s benchmark Chardonnays, showing just how refined and expressive the region can be in the right hands. Crafted from the best barrels selected across Bergström’s five Chardonnay vineyards and named after Josh Bergström’s Swedish grandmother, it reflects a Burgundian sensibility with unmistakable Oregon character.

Makuprofiili
The wine shows a bright, luminous personality in the glass, with aromas that unfold into lemon, orange zest, clove, ginger, and a subtle touch of vanilla. On the palate it is layered and generous, revealing ripe pear, apple, grapefruit, lime peel, and exotic notes of pineapple and papaya, all carried by a finely balanced texture and vibrant freshness. There is impressive depth here, but also precision and tension, giving the wine the feel of something built for both immediate enjoyment and graceful cellaring. With time, the aromatic complexity and textural richness should continue to develop beautifully.

Viininvalmistus
Sigrid is made from the very best Chardonnay fruit grown on Bergström’s biodynamically farmed vineyards in Oregon. Only the top barrels from the estate’s five Chardonnay sites are selected for the final blend, and the juice is aged for 18 months in Burgundian oak barrels, a vinification approach that helps shape the wine’s elegance, structure, and layered complexity.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This Chardonnay is a superb match for roast chicken, butter-poached lobster, grilled scallops, creamy pasta dishes, and rich mushroom-based cuisine. Serve it lightly chilled, ideally around 10–12°C, and consider decanting briefly if you want to open up its aromatics and texture before serving.
