Bergström Sigrid Chardonnay 2023

Bergström Sigrid Chardonnay 2023 is a benchmark Oregon Chardonnay, crafted from only the finest barrels selected from Bergström’s top Chardonnay vineyards. Inspired by Burgundian winemaking and named after Josh Bergström’s Swedish grandmother, it combines precision, depth, and remarkable finesse in a style that has drawn comparisons to great white Burgundy.

Makuprofiili
Pale gold in the glass, this Chardonnay opens with an expressive, lifted nose of lemon, orange blossom, and clove, layered with hints of ginger and vanilla from its time in oak. The aromatics are strikingly complex and elegant, showing both brightness and subtle richness. On the palate, it delivers ripe pear, apple, grapefruit, lime zest, pineapple, and papaya, balanced by vibrant acidity and a polished, creamy texture. The wine has real concentration and length, with enough structure to age gracefully over the next several years, developing added complexity and depth.

Viininvalmistus
Sigrid is made from fruit grown biodynamically across five of Bergström’s Chardonnay vineyards in Oregon, where the cool-climate terroir supports freshness, aromatics, and natural balance. Only the best barrels are selected for the final blend, and the juice is aged for 18 months in Burgundy barrels, a vinification approach that adds texture, nuance, and a refined oak signature without overwhelming the fruit.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This is an ideal match for butter-poached lobster, seared scallops, roast chicken, creamy risotto, or rich fish dishes with citrus and herbs. Serve chilled at around 10–12°C, and decanting is not necessary, though a short aeration can help the wine open up beautifully in its youth.
