Bertrand de Monceny Chassagne-Montrachet Les Marcottes 2023 is a precise and polished expression of one of Burgundy’s most admired Chardonnay terroirs. Sourced from a south-facing parcel with limestone- and stone-rich soils, it combines Chassagne-Montrachet’s hallmark tension and depth with the freshness and finesse of an elegant, terroir-driven white Burgundy.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, the wine shows a bright, pale golden hue. The nose opens with white flowers, citrus, and ripe stone fruit, followed by subtle notes of butter, almond, and gentle toast. The palate is vivid and mineral, with a clean, energetic line that gives the wine length and freshness. A creamy texture from lees aging adds depth without masking the purity of the fruit, while the balance of richness and restraint suggests very good aging potential over the next several years.

Viininvalmistus
Les Marcottes is located in the southern part of the Chassagne-Montrachet appellation, where limestone and small stones create excellent conditions for Chardonnay, encouraging both energy and concentration. The vines are farmed with respect for nature and minimal intervention, and the grapes are hand-harvested with strict selection to ensure only fully ripe clusters reach the cellar. Vinification is careful and restrained, with gentle pressing, fermentation in oak barrels—only a small proportion of which are new—and maturation on the lees to build texture while preserving freshness and a clear sense of place.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This wine pairs beautifully with roasted poultry, fine white fish, scallops, lobster, creamy risotto, or mushroom-based dishes. Serve it at 10–12°C for the best expression of its aromatics and texture. Decanting is not essential, but a short opening in the glass or a brief decant can help the wine show its full aromatic range if served young.
