In the glass, it shows a dark ruby-red colour that immediately signals concentration and depth. The nose is layered and expressive, with aromas of red and black cherries, raspberries, dark plums, thyme, black tea, cloves, and nutmeg. The palate is refined yet vivid, led by a core of red and dark fruit wrapped in silky tannins and a beautifully balanced structure. There is real elegance here, with subtle spice and a long, polished finish that lingers with poise. While already highly enjoyable now, this Pinot Noir has the structure and balance to age gracefully over the next few years.

The fruit for this wine comes from Renaissance Vineyard in Bannockburn, located in Central Otago, a region known for its cool climate, dry conditions, and schist-rich soils that are particularly well suited to Pinot Noir. The grapes are hand-harvested to preserve quality, then matured for around a year in French oak barrels, allowing the wine to gain complexity, texture, and fine-grained integration without overpowering the fruit.
