In the glass, La Grande Année Brut 2015 shows a refined golden hue with a fine, persistent mousse. The nose is complex and layered, opening with ripe orchard fruit, citrus zest, toasted brioche, spice, hazelnut, and subtle oak nuances. On the palate it is structured, creamy, and concentrated, with Pinot Noir bringing impressive body and drive, while Chardonnay adds precision, freshness, and lift. The finish is long and mouthcoating, with a chalky mineral edge and hints of roasted almond and baked pastry. This is a Champagne built for the cellar, with superb ageing potential over many years.

Viininvalmistus
La Grande Année is produced only in years when Bollinger deems the vintage truly exceptional, using grapes exclusively from Grand Cru and Premier Cru vineyards. The Pinot Noir is sourced mainly from Aÿ and Verzenay in the Montagne de Reims, while the Chardonnay comes from Le Mesnil-sur-Oger and Oiry in the Côte des Blancs, giving the wine both power and finesse. Fermentation takes place entirely in small oak barrels, on average around 20 years old, and the wine is then aged under cork, allowing it to develop complexity and texture. All work is done by hand, from harvest through bottling, reflecting a meticulous and traditional approach to winemaking.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This is an elegant and gastronomic Champagne that pairs beautifully with lobster, scallops, roast poultry, truffle dishes, aged Comté, or fine sushi and sashimi. Serve it chilled at around 8–10°C to best appreciate its freshness and depth. Decanting is generally not necessary, but a brief opening in the glass can help reveal its full aromatic complexity.
