Buehler Cabernet Sauvignon Estate Papa’s Knoll 2018 is a powerful, estate-grown Cabernet from a prized small parcel planted in 1971 on Buehler Vineyards’ own land. Made under the careful eye of winemaker David Cronin, it reflects a classic Napa-style ambition: fully ripe fruit, serious concentration, and a polished French oak profile that adds depth without overwhelming the wine’s natural balance. This is a standout bottling from one of Buehler’s most distinguished sites, and a wine that feels both generous now and built for the long haul.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, it shows a deep, насыщенный ruby-red color that hints at its intensity. The nose is layered and expressive, with blackcurrant, red cherries, blood orange, star anise, dark chocolate, pencil lead, cinnamon, and a fresh lift of mint. The palate is rich and concentrated, delivering bold Cabernet fruit with plenty of drive, yet it stays composed and well balanced rather than heavy. Fine tannins and a velvety texture carry the wine into a long, persistent finish. While it is enjoyable now, this is the kind of Cabernet that will only become more refined and compelling with time in bottle, with strong aging potential over the coming years.

Viininvalmistus
Papa’s Knoll comes from a small, dry-farmed parcel planted in 1971 on Buehler Vineyards’ estate in California. Because the vines are not irrigated, the fruit ripens earlier than other Buehler parcels and tends to deliver greater concentration and natural character. The grapes are harvested and sorted by hand, then fermented before the wine is matured for 18 months in French oak barrels, with 45% new wood adding structure, spice, and definition to the final blend.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This Cabernet Sauvignon is a natural partner for grilled ribeye, roast lamb, braised short ribs, and hearty mushroom dishes, as well as aged hard cheeses. Serve it at around 16-18°C for the best balance of fruit and structure. Decanting for 1-2 hours is recommended, especially if opening now, to allow the aromatics to unfold and the tannins to soften.
