Calera Chardonnay 2022

Calera Chardonnay 2022 is a polished yet unfussy expression of California Chardonnay, sourced from some of the best vineyards in the cool, wind-swept Central Coast. It offers the kind of balance that makes the region so compelling: bright fruit, subtle oak influence, and a fresh, vibrant style with real everyday appeal. The wine follows in Calera’s tradition of crafting site-driven wines from exceptional coastal vineyards, and this vintage continues that reputation with confidence.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, it shows a clean, inviting profile with a youthful golden hue. The nose is expressive and fresh, with notes of lemon, watermelon, jasmine, passion fruit, and vanilla. The palate moves into green and red apple, pineapple, and grapefruit, layered with a hint of cardamom and framed by discreet oak and lively acidity. It feels bright and charming rather than heavy, with enough structure and balance to enjoy now, while still having the stamina to develop well over the next 4–5 years.

Viininvalmistus
This Chardonnay is made from grapes grown in some of the Central Coast’s cooler, wind-exposed vineyard sites, where the coastal climate helps preserve freshness and aromatic lift. Winemaker Mike Waller aged the wine for 10 months in French oak barrels, with 10% new oak, allowing the fruit to remain at the center while adding subtle texture and spice.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
Serve this Chardonnay lightly chilled, ideally around 8–10°C, with no decanting needed. It pairs beautifully with roast chicken, grilled fish, shellfish, creamy pasta, and dishes with citrus or herb-driven sauces, as well as мягly spiced vegetable dishes and hard cheeses.
