Caymus Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley 50th Anniversary 2022 is a special release celebrating five decades of one of California’s most iconic Cabernets. Crafted by the Wagner family in Napa Valley since 1972, it showcases the rich, plush style that has made Caymus a benchmark for ripe, expressive Cabernet Sauvignon. This anniversary edition brings together old vines, carefully selected sites, low yields, and the signature Caymus approach to extended hang time and generous ripeness.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, it pours a deep, almost opaque purple-black, hinting at the concentration within. The nose is layered and expressive, with crème de cassis, violets, dark chocolate, and subtle notes of lilac, anise, and cardamom. The palate is bold and luxurious, offering waves of dark fruit, mocha, sweet tobacco, leather, cigar box, vanilla, and sweet licorice. Tannins are plush and polished rather than drying, giving the wine a rounded, seamless texture. The finish is long, warm, and spice-driven, and the wine has the structure and depth to evolve beautifully over the next 20 to 25 years.

This Cabernet Sauvignon is sourced from carefully selected Napa Valley sites, including old vines and low-yielding vineyards where minimal irrigation and extended ripening help build depth and concentration. Grapes are left on the vine longer than usual to develop the ripe, dark style that defines Caymus, though this approach requires patience and a degree of risk in the vineyard. French oak is used with restraint to support the fruit without overpowering it.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
Serve this wine with grilled ribeye, braised short ribs, roast lamb, or mushroom dishes with deep umami character. It also pairs well with aged hard cheeses and richly sauced dishes. Best served at 16–18°C, and decanting for 1–2 hours is recommended to let the wine fully open.
