Caymus Cabernet Sauvignon Special Selection 2013

Caymus Cabernet Sauvignon Special Selection 2013 is the flagship wine from Caymus Vineyards and one of the most celebrated Cabernet Sauvignons in California. Produced only in outstanding vintages from the estate’s best vineyard parcels, it has earned legendary status among wine lovers, including the rare distinction of being named Wine Spectator’s No. 1 Wine in the World twice.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, this is a deep, dark Cabernet with impressive concentration and intensity. The nose opens gradually, revealing layers of dark cherry, blueberry tart, boysenberry, tar, milk chocolate, and licorice, all of which become more expressive with a little time in the glass. On the palate, the wine is rich and full-bodied, with powerful flavors of dark cherry, blueberry, raspberry liqueur, boysenberry, light chocolate shavings, and tar. The finish is long, seamless, and nearly endless, showing both immediate appeal and the structure to continue developing beautifully with age.

Viininvalmistus
Caymus Special Selection is crafted only in vintages where fruit from the finest vineyard plots reaches exceptional ripeness and quality. The Cabernet Sauvignon grapes are selected with great care, and under the guidance of winemaker Chuck Wagner, the wine is assembled to reflect the depth, concentration, and plush style that have become Caymus’ signature. The 2013 vintage was released as a standout example of this approach, showing the precision and ambition of one of Napa Valley’s most iconic bottlings.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This powerful Cabernet pairs beautifully with equally bold dishes such as grilled ribeye, slow-roasted beef, lamb chops, venison, or rich mushroom-based plates. Serve at around 16–18°C for the best expression of its aromas and structure. Decanting for at least 1–2 hours is recommended, especially if enjoyed young, to allow the wine’s layered aromas and texture to fully open.
