Caymus Cabernet Sauvignon Special Selection 2013 Magnum is the flagship wine from Caymus Vineyards and one of the most coveted Cabernet Sauvignons from California. Crafted by Chuck Wagner from the estate’s finest vineyard parcels, this is a powerful, collector-worthy magnum with real pedigree.

Makuprofiili
Deep and dark in the glass, this wine shows the richness and concentration you would expect from a top-tier Napa Cabernet. The nose opens with black cherry, blueberry pie, boysenberry, tar, milk chocolate, and licorice, gaining complexity with a little time in the glass. On the palate, it is intense and layered, with dark cherry, blueberry, raspberry liqueur, boysenberry, shaved milk chocolate, and a thread of tar running through the finish. Despite its immediate appeal, the wine is still youthful and has the structure and depth to evolve beautifully over time. The magnum format gives it even greater aging potential.

This Special Selection is made only in years when the fruit from Caymus’s best vineyard plots reaches exceptional quality. The vineyards are located in California’s Napa Valley, where warm days and cool nights help Cabernet Sauvignon develop ripe fruit character, richness, and balance. The wine is assembled with great precision by Chuck Wagner, using carefully selected lots and traditional premium winemaking methods designed to preserve concentration, texture, and complexity.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
Best enjoyed with richly flavored dishes such as grilled ribeye, braised short ribs, roast lamb, truffle-infused pasta, or aged hard cheeses. Serve at around 16-18°C, and consider decanting for at least 1-2 hours to allow the aromatics to fully open and the structure to soften. The magnum format makes it ideal for special occasions and long dinners.
