Caymus Suisun Petite Sirah Grand Durif 2020 is a bold, characterful red that puts Petite Sirah firmly in the spotlight rather than using it as a blending grape. Sourced from old vines in Suisun Valley, just a touch warmer than much of Napa, it showcases the variety’s natural depth, structure, and intensity with the kind of confidence Caymus is known for.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, this wine shows a deep black-purple color that hints at the richness to come. The bouquet is layered and inviting, with dark cherries, prunes, boysenberries, dark chocolate, tobacco, and a lift of vanilla from the oak. The palate is full-bodied and expressive, delivering impressive concentration while remaining balanced and smooth. The aromatic notes return in a plush, velvety sequence, giving the wine both power and elegance. This is a wine with good aging potential, where its structure and depth should continue to evolve gracefully over time.

Viininvalmistus
The grapes come from old Petite Sirah vines in Suisun Valley, where the slightly warmer climate helps the variety achieve full ripeness and richness. Fruit is harvested by hand to preserve quality, and the wine is then matured in a combination of new and used French oak barrels, adding complexity without overwhelming the fruit.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This wine pairs beautifully with grilled steaks, slow-braised short ribs, roast lamb, venison, or richly seasoned barbecue. It also works well with hard aged cheeses and dishes with dark, savory sauces. Serve at around 16–18°C, and consider decanting for about 1 hour to let its aromas and texture open fully.
