Caymus Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon Special Selection 2020 is the flagship wine from one of California’s most celebrated Cabernet producers. Released only in exceptional vintages, it has become a true benchmark for Napa Valley Cabernet and is especially notable as the only wine ever named Wine Spectator’s "Number One Wine in the World" twice. Crafted by Chuck Wagner, it combines richness, precision, and pedigree in a style that has made it a must-try for collectors and Cabernet lovers alike.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, this wine shows deep, dark color and an impressive sense of concentration. The nose opens gradually with layered aromas of dark cherry, blueberry tart, boysenberry, tar, milk chocolate, and licorice, showing that it is still youthful but already highly expressive. On the palate, it is dense, plush, and intensely flavoured, with dark cherry, blueberry, raspberry liqueur, boysenberry, light chocolate shavings, and a distinct tarry edge. The finish is remarkably long and persistent, suggesting excellent aging potential. While it is drinking beautifully now, it is the kind of Cabernet that should continue to gain complexity over time.

Special Selection is produced only in years when the finest vineyard blocks reach an exceptionally high level of quality. Sourced from Caymus’ best plots in California, the wine reflects ripe fruit, careful selection, and a focus on depth and balance. Under the direction of Chuck Wagner, the fruit is vinified to preserve concentration and texture, resulting in a polished, full-bodied Cabernet Sauvignon with remarkable intensity.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This Cabernet Sauvignon is a natural match for richly flavoured dishes such as grilled ribeye, beef tenderloin, braised short ribs, roasted lamb, or aged hard cheeses. Serve it at around 16–18°C to let the aromatics and structure open fully. Decanting is recommended, especially in its youth, to allow the wine to show its full aromatic depth and soften its powerful profile.
