Ceritas Occidental Vineyard Pinot Noir 2021 is an impressive early release from one of California’s most admired coastal Pinot sites. Already showing remarkable balance and depth, it combines the intensity you’d expect from a standout vineyard with the finesse and precision that make Pinot Noir so compelling. Occidental Vineyard, planted in 1990 by Paul Kistler with the Dutton family, has quickly earned a reputation as one of the region’s great sources for Pinot Noir.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, this Pinot Noir shows a vibrant, polished profile with plenty of youthful energy and refined structure. The nose is layered with dark cherry, cranberry, pomegranate, red licorice, and rose petals, creating a fragrant and inviting aromatic lift. The palate is elegant and silken, with ripe fruit unfolding alongside notes of licorice, leather, smoke, spice, and a touch of saline character on the finish. Despite its youthful concentration, the wine remains beautifully balanced and poised. It is built for the cellar and should age gracefully for at least 15 years, gaining complexity and nuance over time.

Serve it slightly below room temperature, around 15–16°C, and consider a short decant if opening young, though it will also open nicely in the glass.
