Ceritas Trout Gulch Vineyard Pinot Noir 2021 is a coastal California Pinot with a distinctly fresh, mineral-driven profile. Sourced from a vineyard planted in 1977 in the Santa Cruz Mountains close to the Pacific, it balances bright fruit with a subtle saline edge and a remarkable sense of place.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, this Pinot Noir shows a poised, luminous character rather than deep weight. The nose opens with fragrant red and citrus-toned aromas, layered with crushed stone, chalky mineral notes, and a faint herbal lift that reflects its cool, coastal origin. The palate is precise and vibrant, with citrusy freshness, red berry nuance, and a delicate saline streak that gives the wine lift and energy. There’s impressive tension and clarity here, and while it already drinks beautifully, it has the structure and balance to age gracefully for around 8 to 10 years.

Viininvalmistus
Trout Gulch Vineyard sits in the Santa Cruz Mountains near the coast, where sandy soils and ocean influence help shape the wine’s fresh, slightly saline character. The grapes are harvested with careful attention to ripeness, and winemaker John Raytek uses whole-cluster fermentation in large barrels. The wine is then aged for 10 months in neutral oak, followed by 6 months in stainless steel to settle and refine before release.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This Pinot Noir pairs especially well with roast chicken, duck breast, mushroom dishes, grilled salmon, and lighter game such as quail. Serve it slightly cool, ideally around 14–16°C, and decant gently for 20–30 minutes if you’d like to open up its aromatic detail.
