Château Batailley 2019 Magnum is a classic Pauillac from one of the Médoc’s oldest and most historic estates, offering the structure, depth and Cabernet-driven character that define great left-bank Bordeaux. As a 5th Growth Grand Cru Classé, it combines pedigree with real drinkability, making it a standout choice for collectors and serious Bordeaux lovers alike.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, it shows a deep garnet-purple color with an unmistakably concentrated core. The bouquet opens with cassis, blackberry and graphite, layered with licorice, tobacco, cracked black pepper and a touch of earthy loam. The palate is medium to full-bodied, broad and fleshy, yet firmly framed by ripe, powdery tannins and lively acidity. Black fruit purity carries through to a long, refined finish marked by mineral, cedar and graphite notes. The 2019 vintage has the balance and structure to age beautifully over the next 10–20 years, and likely longer in magnum format.

Viininvalmistus
Château Batailley is situated in Pauillac on classic Bordeaux left-bank terroir, with soils made up of gravel, sand and clay that provide excellent drainage and ideal conditions for Cabernet Sauvignon. The estate’s vineyards are planted predominantly to Cabernet Sauvignon, supported by Merlot and a small proportion of Cabernet Franc, reflecting the traditional style of the appellation. Harvesting is carried out with careful selection to preserve fruit quality, followed by vinification designed to emphasize precision, freshness and the firm tannic backbone typical of Pauillac.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This is a natural match for roast lamb, entrecôte, venison, beef tenderloin, duck breast, and rich dishes with mushroom or truffle accents. Serve at 16–18°C, and consider decanting for 1–2 hours if drinking young to allow the wine to open fully and soften its structure.

Classified as a 5th Growth in the 1855 Bordeaux Classification, it has remained under strong family stewardship for generations, contributing to its reputation for consistency and value.
