Château Cheval Blanc 1998

Château Cheval Blanc 1998 is a superb vintage from one of Saint-Émilion’s most celebrated estates, renowned for its elegance, complexity, and remarkable ageing potential. Built around a Merlot-led blend with Cabernet Franc adding structure and aromatic lift, it captures the graceful yet powerful style that has made Cheval Blanc a benchmark in Bordeaux.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, it shows a deep ruby-red color with lively reflections. The bouquet is expressive and layered, offering ripe plum, blackcurrant, and dark cherry, lifted by notes of cedar, licorice, spice, and a subtle graphite nuance. The palate is concentrated and silky, with beautifully balanced tannins, vibrant acidity, and impressive depth. Rich and polished rather than heavy, it finishes long and refined. While already at an excellent stage of maturity, the wine still has the structure and pedigree to continue evolving gracefully over time.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This is a classic Bordeaux to serve with refined dishes such as roast lamb, beef tenderloin, duck breast, or game with mushroom sauces. It also pairs beautifully with aged hard cheeses. Serve at 16–18°C and consider decanting for about an hour if enjoyed now, especially to let its aromatic complexity fully open.
