In the glass, this wine shows a deep ruby-red colour that hints at its concentration and maturity. On the palate, it is full-bodied and powerful, yet beautifully balanced by polished tannins and a rounded, silky texture. The finish is long and expressive, with notes of balsamic nuance and gentle oak. Château Cos d'Estournel lies in Saint-Estèphe, on Bordeaux’s Left Bank, where gravelly soils and a maritime climate help Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot reach full expression. The estate’s vineyards benefit from carefully selected parcels and meticulous vineyard work, with harvesting typically carried out by hand to preserve fruit quality. In the cellar, the grapes are vinified with precision to retain structure, depth, and aromatic purity, while oak ageing adds further complexity and refinement.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This is a superb wine for richly flavoured dishes such as roast lamb, beef Wellington, entrecôte, venison, or slow-cooked braised beef. It also pairs well with mature hard cheeses. Serve at around 16–18°C, and consider decanting for at least 1–2 hours if drinking now, especially to allow the wine to open and reveal its full aromatic range.
