Château Cos d'Estournel 2005 is a remarkable Saint-Estèphe from one of Bordeaux’s most iconic estates, classified as a Second Growth in the 1855 Classification. The celebrated 2005 vintage brings exceptional structure, depth, and aging potential, making this a wine of both immediate presence and long-term reward.

In the glass, it shows a dark, deep ruby hue that hints at its intensity. The nose is layered and expressive, opening with blackcurrant, dark cherry, cedar, tobacco, and exotic spices, all lifted by a refined mineral edge. On the palate, it is concentrated and rich, with silky yet powerful tannins that create a striking balance between strength and finesse. The finish is long and lingering, marked by dark chocolate, licorice, and spice. While already impressive with proper aeration, this wine has the structure and concentration to continue developing complexity over the coming decades.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
Best served at 16–18°C, this is a wine that benefits from decanting for several hours if enjoyed now, especially in its youth. It pairs beautifully with rich dishes such as roast lamb, beef tenderloin, duck, game, and slow-braised meats, as well as mature hard cheeses.
