Château Cos d'Estournel 2016

Château Cos d'Estournel 2016 is a superb Saint-Estèphe from one of Bordeaux’s most admired estates, classified as a 2nd Growth in the historic 1855 classification. The 2016 vintage is celebrated for its precision, balance, and freshness, showing the refined, composed style that has made this château a benchmark for powerful yet elegant Bordeaux.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, it shows a deep, nearly inky color, hinting at its concentration and depth. The nose is beautifully layered, with aromas of blackcurrant, blueberry, violet, cedar, and graphite, lifted by subtle spice and mineral notes. The palate is rich and concentrated, yet remarkably polished, with silky tannins providing structure without heaviness. There is impressive freshness throughout, carrying into a long, persistent finish marked by finesse and detail. This is a wine with excellent ageing potential, and it should develop even greater complexity and depth over the coming decades, with drinking maturity beginning around 2026.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This is a classic wine for hearty, flavourful dishes such as grilled ribeye, roast lamb, beef tenderloin, venison, or mushroom-based dishes with earthy depth. Serve at around 16–18°C. Decanting is recommended, especially if enjoyed young, to allow the aromas and structure to खुल fully.
