Château Cos d'Estournel 2019

Château Cos d'Estournel 2019 is a distinguished Saint-Estèphe Bordeaux, classified as a Second Growth in the 1855 Classification. Crafted primarily from Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, it combines power, precision, and elegance in a style that has made the estate one of the most admired names in the Médoc. Delivered in its original wooden case of six bottles, it is a wine built for collectors and patient cellars alike.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, it shows a deep ruby-red colour that hints at its concentration and structure. The nose is expressive and layered, with notes of blackcurrant, dark cherry, spice, and tobacco, lifted by subtle mineral and smoky nuances. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and impressively muscular, yet beautifully balanced. Fine, integrated tannins give it a smooth, rounded texture, while its depth and freshness promise excellent development over time. This is a wine with strong ageing potential, and it is recommended from 2027 onward, when its complexity and harmony are expected to be at their best.

Viininvalmistus
Produced in Saint-Estèphe on Bordeaux’s gravelly terroirs, Château Cos d'Estournel benefits from an environment well suited to Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, which thrive in the estate’s deep, well-drained soils. The grapes are harvested with careful selection to preserve ripeness and balance, and vinification is carried out with the aim of extracting structure, purity, and aromatic depth while maintaining finesse.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This wine pairs especially well with rich dishes such as grilled or roasted beef, lamb, venison, duck, and braised short ribs, as well as mature hard cheeses. Serve at around 16–18°C. Decanting is recommended, particularly when drinking young, to allow the wine to open fully and reveal its aromatic complexity and polished tannins.
