First released in 2003, it has quickly become a respected expression of Cos d’Estournel’s know-how at a more accessible level.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, it typically shows a deep ruby color with youthful purple reflections in its early years. The nose is expressive and refined, with dark berries, blackcurrant, plum, cedar, graphite, and a hint of spice, all wrapped in the classic Bordeaux profile of polished oak and subtle earthiness. On the palate, it is medium to full-bodied, with ripe Cabernet Sauvignon bringing structure and freshness, while Merlot adds roundness and smoothness to the mid-palate. The finish is elegant, balanced, and persistent, with fine tannins that suggest good aging potential. While enjoyable now thanks to its approachable style, the wine should also develop well over the next several years, gaining more complexity, softness, and secondary notes with bottle age. The Magnum format will help preserve freshness and extend its evolution.

Viininvalmistus
G d’Estournel comes from Goulée, a small vineyard site in the Médoc just north of Saint-Estèphe, planted specifically to reflect the character and quality associated with Château Cos d'Estournel. The red wine vines are planted to 80% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Merlot, a proportion that favors structure, aromatic depth, and longevity while keeping the style supple and approachable. The grapes are harvested from this dedicated parcel and vinified with the same attention to detail and expertise as the estate’s grander wines, resulting in a classically styled Bordeaux with strong regional identity.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This is a versatile Bordeaux that pairs beautifully with roast lamb, beef tenderloin, duck breast, grilled ribeye, or mushroom-based dishes. It also works well with aged hard cheeses and hearty winter stews. Serve at around 16–18°C, and consider decanting for 1–2 hours if drinking young to allow the aromas to open and the tannins to soften.
